Nerve (Neuro) Reflexology is a complementary therapy, a branch of Reflexology which apart from maintaining the body’s natural equilibrium by resolving somatic dysfunctions prioritizes the dealing of pain. A Nerve Reflexology therapist will work according to the type of pain the client presents with and the way the body copes with this pain.

NR Therapists have very good knowledge the nervous system and nerve pathways, therefore after a long preliminary talk with the client, in order to determine present and past health and life style, the practitioner will seek the roots of the pain as well as which areas of the body are affected.

Nerve Reflexology is a highly effective treatment; its effectiveness is based upon the fact that a large number of proprioceptors (sensory nerve cells) are to be found on the feet. These nerve cells record physiological or/and noxious changes in the chemical and mechanical internal environment of the body and alert the brain. Mild pressure to specific NR points on the foot results in the stimulation of the corresponding nerves and impulses are carried to the brain via the spinal cord. The brain records those messages and gives orders which have a direct impact on:

  • The function and the movement of internal organs in the abdominal area
  • Muscle movement
  • Lymph and blood flow
  • Secretion of hormones
  • Nervous system

Nerve Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:

 Cervical area pains

– Back pain

– Compressed nerves

– Migraine and tension headaches

– Stress related conditions

– Hormonal imbalances

– Digestive disorders

In a typical Nerve Reflexology session, the practitioner combines Classic Foot Reflexology manipulations and stimulation of various NR points. A treatment session usually lasts 40-45 min. A course of treatment may be recommended depending on the client’s needs.
